The Legend Of Xaeron

After the events of Doomsday, the land of Xaeron lost all its governing powers as Baldur's Gate finally takes action and steps in, declaring it an active investigation site, in an attempt to unravel the mysteries of that wretched day.

Due to the large influx of monsters and the cost and scale of the operation — mostly due to logistical costs — it was decided that privatizing the Investigation could bring greater advantages than a public investigation using public resources, thus Companies have been given access to the isle taking over most means of entry — such entities are now tasked with the usual maintenance of the venture with the main goal of figuring out its root cause, how it happened, and those to blame.

Although many mysteries seem to linger, many anti-theocratic[^1] regions seem to appear throughout the land causing great difficulties for clerics and paladins alike and The Hollow still conquer the land, if only at night.

About the Wiki

The wiki serves as my own note-taking and creative hub, not everything is public but I try to make the things that are nice, it also serves as a means for you all to stay up to date with known knowledge and research the world you’ll be in, I’ll be updating the pages with currently known knowledge, say you learn that X likes cookies and that’s somehow important to you, it’ll appear there (cause I have to note it down myself).

Known bugs:

  • Footnote bug
  • Folder Note bug

Themes / CW[^2]

  • Psychological Horror
  • Body Horror (Expect to see things similar to The Boiled One)
  • Cosmic Horror
  • Life and death and its meaning
  • Purpose and motivation

[^1]: Theos for god, Krateo for rule, anti-theocratic in this sense meaning: “against the rule of god”.

[^2]: Content Warnings; With the introduction of a new, long-term campaign, I’d like to venture to new writing themes, I tried to tease a bit on such themes in the original Xaeron but this time with the possibility of slow-burn themes I’d like to delve deeper — these Content Warnings / Themes are not absolute, you won’t be seeing them EVERY session or even see the worst of it by that matter, but I simply wanted to mention them since they can be seen as sensitive topics or too much to some people. Also this does not mean this is IT! Since this is a long-running campaign, new topics can appear and so on, I’ll try to keep this up to date and warn everyone if something sensitive may come up, but this is what I already have jotted down and planned.
